Everyone comes to their own conclusions regarding the meaning behind an artist's work. That's just fact. And while many others who have seen this give differing viewpoints on what to be afraid of, I must add to this pile of speculation.
Many have pointed out the obvious pieces of fears: the spider for arachnophobia, the tight room for claustrophobia, the open door for fear of taking a risk to fix anything, stark shadows for fear of the dark, and intense (and smart) choices in color that emphasizes the danger the woman sees. But what about this one detail?
The upturned skirt, with exposed panties. What does THAT symbolize? A fear of intimacy? A fear of exposure? A fear of being wanted? A fear of being desirable? Maybe it symbolizes that she has already been defiled in some way?
There are many questions behind it that don't yield an easy answer or explanation.
All in all, I love this piece and I can't wait to see more of what you can bring to the art world.

This is really a combination of a lot of fears. Fear of spiders, claustrophobia, fear of the dark, fear of clowns (?). Each one of those is very well presented in the piece.
This showcases the abilities of the artist. The lighting, perspective and facial features are extremely well done. The locket around her wrist and key around her neck symbolize that fear is really self-implicated. You are your own salvation. That was very clever to put.
The only thing I find a bit off are the panties. I think it's their colorfulness, it doesn't seem to fit. But that might just be my opinion. You might've put that on purpose for contrast.
All in all, a great piece with immense impact and symbolism.

The painting is very expressive. I like the way the woman is twisted and the way she turns her head away from the ceiling. It also suggests a claustrophobic reaction.
The position of the legs, that of the hands and the red eyes enhance the feeling of fear, which the whole painting speaks of.
I also like the symbols of the lock and the key. I see this as a message like: The key to her freedom is at her, but she cannot open the lock. Also, the door which leads to freedom is unlocked, yet she cannot see it. So, she remains a prisoner of her fears.
The color choice is good as red is a color associated with fear and danger. I also like the exagerated size of the character as it's in contrast with the motive of her fears.

the fear is useful only when an adrenalin release is needed, to be stronger into a fight and run situation...you cannot run from your own shadow

It looks as though someone is peeking in from the door, did you intend that, or am I just looking at it wrong? Regardless, absolutely amazing work. It makes me shiver, because I know the feeling all too well. Spiders are terrifying.
