Comic BookChapter Page| Chapter 1: Burning Bonds
The page has Karen inside of a large holding tube
with Keith looking at her floating above him slightly because of the water.
Keith is surprised and Karen is looking out hopefully to Keith. They are inside
a lab room with lots of monitors. It is very dark except for Karen capsule
which gives off a faint glow.
A chat
Keith and Kent are floating through space. Large
rocks and satellite debris float around them and both of their suits are
heavily damaged but not leaking. They are drifting as if they were simply
laying back. Since they are both in their suits neither of their faces are
showing.
Kent
Why are you here.
Keith looks towards Kent and moves to a sitting
position.
In the sitting position Keith is making a reply
while looking towards space.
Keith
Because my mother decided she wanted a little girl, and got
me instead.
Kent
That's not what I meant.
Keith looks to Kent. Kent is still laying back
and looking into space.
Keith
You were to ambitious. Someone needed to stop you.
Kent
And you had to be that one? You were the ambitious one.
Keith shakes his head in frustration.
Keith
Your confusing ambition with survival instincts. There were
innocent people to save.
Kent is standing and looking at Keith giving
angry gestures. Keith sits silently.
Kent
Like what, your so called friends? What are they to you now?
A panel change to Keith standing in front of
Karen's capsule. Karen is looking out hopefully and Keith is standing looking
worriedly at her. The scene is dark but with a light of hope.
Magg is suspended from wires and surrounded by
computer equipment in a room that looks like its inside a Mayan temple type
room. Keith is standing in front of mag with his gun over his shoulder looking
at mag curiously. It is a dreary scene that is dark.
Keith
The question you should be asking is what was i to them.
How i met a dragon
Keith is running down a stark white hall with a
high ceiling with mini spikes coming down from it for ambiance. Keith is
holding a rifle and wearing his helmet.
Keith
You see, what a person thinks about you can be more powerful
than what you see yourself.
Keith is standing against a wall at a corner.
Keith is carefully looking around the corner with the corner of his helmet and
keeping his rifle ready.
Keith
It doesn't matter if you think your a hardened soldier.
Keith is hacking a card/code lock with a special
device. It looks a lot like a smart-phone.
Keith
Or how smart you are.
Keith is entering a dark room with little
lighting. The only light comes from some monitors and a capsule in the center
of the room.
Keith is examining papers and messing with
computers at the same time, not paying any attention to the capsule.
Keith places his phone on the table and an app on
it show its downloading files.
Karen
Hey?
Keith turns around holding his gun up and sees
Karen floating inside her capsule with a stern expression on her face. She does
not look happy at being ignored until now.
Karen
Your going to break me out of here, any questions.
Another view of Keith shows a front view of him
looking into the capsule. giving us a better view of his reaction. His gun is
lowered and he is less tense.
Keith's voice
Keith
If someone sees you as a hero, your going to want to do the
right thing.
Kent
And if you don't want to be what they expect you to be?
Keith regains his composure ignores Karen's
demand. Karen looks disheartened.
ding
The ding from Keith's PDA tells him its done
downloading, Keith is picking it up.
Keith is walking out the door, rifle in hand and
ready to leave the room.
Karen
Don't go!
Keith(V)
You would be surprised how people can change your mind with a
simple plea.
Going for broke
Keith is standing in front of Karen's capsule still with
his helmet on and holding his rifle in the low ready position. Karen is looking
at him with her hands pressed against the glass.
Karen
Get me out of here.
Keith is examining the capsule. Karen is looking
hopeful.
Keith begins leave to room again. Karen looks
anguished, completely losing her cool this time and losing her temper.
Karen
Don't leave me! I know you can hear me in this fucking
prison, don't leave me hear.
Karen starts banging on the capsule in
frustration and starts to become depressed. Keith has almost exited the door.
Karen
You heartless bastard.
Keith pauses at the door for a second. Clearly
taking the insult to heart.
Pulling a bit of blue putty from his belt he
makes a small ball.
Keith throws the ball to the capsule right
underneath where the glass starts.
Keith leaves the room with Karen confused and
looking at the little ball.
Heartless
Keith is running down the hall again. Thoughts of
the event are running across his mind.
KEITH
Why did i do that?
Keith turns a corner and spots two guards.They
are the opposite direction of Keith.
Keith makes a quick move to hide behind corner.
Keith taps his helmet near the ear.
Guard
So have you heard from the guys in bio-tech recently.
Guard 2
No, whats up.
GUARD
I hear Paul was in urgent care with burns.
Guard 2
So what, he fell against a heater again?
GUARD
I don't know, hes not talking about it. Those bio-tech
techies pushed me out before he answered, they give me the creeps.
GUARD 2
Don't worry about them its not like there making super
soldiers or anything right, this is a tiny military research facility not
a mad house. Lets just keep our heads low and eyes shut, less we know the safer
we are.
Keith types into his PDA and dashes behind the
guards into a corridor near them.
The guards turn around thinking they hear a sound.
An alarm goes off and the room is flashing red.
Alarm
Bio-Tech facility breached all non essential personnel report
to bio-tech.
GUARD
Speak of the devil and he shall come.
Guard 2
Lets move.
The guards run past Keith's corridor but do not
notice.
Keith runs down the guards hallway passing a
number of doors marked for weapons storage.
Keith stops at a door. Its a forward shot
of Keith's face, you don't see the door.
A back view of Keith shows the door is marked as
hazardous material storage.
Flashlight of Malice
Keith entering the room, its an inside the room
shot and the room is pitch black except for the light cast from the door.
A first person view from inside Keith's helmet
shows the room in infrared night vision. The room is filled with barrels,
crates and boxes. On the visor is a mark indicating a target box hidden in the
far back of the room.
Still first person Keith is making his way to the
box.
creak
Keith turns around and sees the door open again
but closing.
Confused Keith looks behind him and sees a man in
a suit wearing a gas mask. He is also holding a flashlight.
Marauder
Hi!
A white blur in the middle of what would be
Keith's view shows that the masked man overloaded the night vision with his
light.
KEITH
Fuck.
The blindness is subsiding but the marauder is
not visible. The marker indicating Keith's target has moved.
The light is gone and Keith's vision is normal.
The mark on Keith's visor has disappeared and Keith is moving towards the door.
Opening the door.
A squad of soldiers are behind the door.
Keith shuts the door.
gunfire
Little blue menace
Keith is leaning on the wall with the door.
Bullets have riddled the door with holes and light is peering into the dark
room. Keith has his rifle at ready to shoot if anyone walks into the door.
Guards
Get ready men, on me.
A first person view of Keith shows him looking at
the wall with a heat tracker mode on his visor. On the wall are four spots
where the soldiers are getting ready to break into the room.
Kieth pulls some blue putty from his belt and
packs it on the wall.
Keith backs into the room and hides behind some
heavy crates.
The room is filled with lights as the soldiers
break into the room.
The soldiers spread like the professionals they
are.
One of them notices the blue putty on the wall.
The panel is a side view of the soldier and Keith
holding a detonator. The soldier is shocked to see the blue putty but does not
notice Keith behind the crates.
Keith presses the button in a close up shot.
Lots of debris flying around and soldiers getting
blown up.
Kieth makes a run for the door. Stepping over the
groaning body's of the soldiers, only the one close to the putty took minor
damage.
What to do
Karen is looking at the blue putty.
She hears a high pitched sound. She is
discomforted by it.
Karen
Ow
The putty explodes and Karen spills out of the
container.
She slowly gets up.
She looks around the room, unsure of her freedom.
Karen
I'm free?
Karen hears the gunfire from the other side of
the building. She is not happy to hear it.
Back against the wall
Keith is running down a hall. Gunfire is coming
from behind him but he doesn't pay attention to it.
Turning a corner.
Keith runs into more guards and a small turret
drone with shielding.
KEITH
Crap
Keith turns around.
More guards are there.
Keith is surrounded and is looking for an out.
He doesn't find one and backs against a wall.
KEITH
No chance of talking this out is there?
A soldier clicks his shotgun at Keith.
GUARD
Nope.
