Night watcher
At night I walk in my house and I hear someone’s footsteps that are not my own, I look to see who and no one is there. At night I look into my mirror and think someone is watching me, I turn and see only shadow. At night I will sit in bed and hear noises that are not normal, I ask who it is and no one answers. At night I lay in thoughtful slumber and awaken to the sound of one standing close, I bend my head and I see nothing. May it be fear or me, something in the night watches me, for good or ill I may never know.
