Description
Working out layouts for a 30 second animation I'm making. This is pretty much the layout for the final scene where the two main characters are gonna be a-swingin' all over the place. I wanted a very UPA animation design style for the look of this so I could get very loose and simple with designs and realy play with the motion. I looked at UPA shorts like Rooty-Toot-Toot and Gerald Mc Boing-Boing as well as the Warner short Three Little Bops, and later found a wonderful website at [link] with a great design sense. I atribute the brick wall design wholy to them and will be seeking their blessing and giving them a screen credit as inspiration when the short is done. Mostly I had a lot of fun designing the bass and drums for the band and had an interesting time taming my cartooning style into a much simpler and flatter style for the band members. Enjoy and feel free to comment and crit. (Some of you might recognize those tiki heads on the back wall...)
