The main characters of the game that later became Super Mario Bros 2.How can you dislike the game that brought Shyguys to the Mario universe? And the "Papa"-character almost makes it look as if it was always meant to be a Mario game.

I really wish these guys got more attention. I don't know why but they all look so interesting. Maybe some day I can play as one of them of SSB.

As far as I know, they were the mascots of a Japanese TV show at the time of the game's creation, so I'd say it's pretty unlikely that we'll ever see them again.

Ever since I learned that Super Mario Bros. 2 was actually a remake of this, I found myself wondering why they changed this into a nightmare Mario had from eating something incredibly spicy before bed.

Awesome. SMB2 is probably my favorite Mario 2-d platformer, but I would love to play the original. Let's hope it gets VC-ed!

Hmm, I wouldn't bet on Doki Doki Panic becoming available on VC as SMB2 seems to be pretty much an improved version of the original game, but I guess you never know.
