Newer Princess Luna sprite, edited to accomodate the new idle animation (that, and her legs move slightly smoother now).Edited from my old Luna, which was in turn based on Nightmare Moon from Desktop Ponies.
Edit: Made a few improvements (more show-accurate colors, nicer sparkles and such)

Is the "aura" part of the mane transparent, or is it just plain purple? Just wondering...

Within the Desktop Ponies program, the mane is slightly transparent. Not in the gif itself though as that wouldn't be possible.

Well, basically, I took the sprites from Nightmare Moon, reworked the body into Luna, edited the mane and tail, put everything into separate layers, made small corrections where needed and then animated the whole thing. That's all there is to it.
