Interesting new take on the Pretenders: once again, they may be written as if those shells make some sense at all.
The idea of the organic vigilante, in Batman style, is great. I think that the huge amount of vigilantes, in the end, makes it a bit less effective, though: the scene gets a bit crowded ^^'

I agree... also why would Optimus never heard or seen the pretender "shells" before, when so many on either side of it all *have*? Ol' Op' may not be too observant at times but he's not blind.

Hmm, for this I would conjecture that the Pretender technology was developed in secret... it's true that everybody else seems to be aware of it, but at least Optimus looks really surprised when he finds out the truth, so... um, the involved factions are some inner circle, like drug dealers, who know how to keep their secret?
