Most of the 'glow' is by adjusting the material properties of the items - we can use shine and also glow, which is a lighting effect, then I adjusted the overall scene lighting till I got the effect I wanted. I 'bounced' light off of an object that also had some texture too.
I used a very light blur in post work, but erased that over the face and hands and the globe.

The tools we have in Second Life are pretty powerful if you have the patience and the rig to use them ......... patience I have in some measure but my graphics card sometimes decides its had enough
