Here's a piece I basically plowed through in a single day, sketching and inking it in practically one sitting. I'd found out late in the game that Charles Martinet--the voice of Mario, Luigi, and pretty much everyone else in the series who isn't Peach, Daisy, or Rosalina--was going to be attending the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo this year. So as soon as I put the finishing touches on my Armaggon battle picture, I moved right into this one while I still had some momentum.

It turned out pretty much spot-on what I was aiming for (though, in hindsight, I really should have put a bit more linework into the flames; they look nice in color, but they get kinda stoic in black & white).
