That was such a neat story! It was a little lackluster in terms of character development and relatability, but the creature concepts, the concept of this unique gas-cloud world, and the sheer alien qualities the setting had was just beautiful! I like your portrayal of the noser, here.

Just a random tidbit: if they ever made a movie of "Integral Trees," I think they should use a certain song I found on Youtube as the main theme: an ambient electronica song called "Sky Trees" by Solar Fields.

I loved that book! Well, I love any Larry Niven. Smoke Ring was good too. I always envisioned the dumbo as a round mass with a central trunk and smaller wings, but I like this much more...now I want the rereread the books.

I have some moar, but I'm unsure if it's right or not, as the book makes the shapes of "fish" and "birds" rather ambiguous by saying "if birds look like fish, fish surely look like birds"

well, it's just that the birds (floating/flying animals) look like trilateral fish with larger fins. The fish (that are amphibious, and most comfortable in floating ponds) look like small birds with aquatic similarities. Have you read Smoke Ring?

Well, these are aliens, and they have three-sided bodily symmetry.

Oh, thankyou very much for your feedback

I enjoyed reading about the various aliens on the smokering, but their phrase about "birds resembling fish, fish resembling birds" made me confused as to exactly what their birds and fish look like

Yeah, they get alot of flack in those books, if they were a separate species, I'm sure they'd be enslaved.
