I see Elric is the most famous out of all the Champion's incarnations.
It was my father who got me into Michael Moorcock. He's a big fan (he has a tattoo of the sign of chaos on his left shoulder and Elric on his left ribs). He told me about the Elric Saga and I went to the library one day to check them out. And then I read the others soon after.

Yeah, I guess he is kinda the posterboy when it comes to Moorcock's work. He's my favourite too, obvsiously, but I also like Corum very much and well, prety much anything I've read by him in general ^^

Nice. I think my favorite character is Erekose. I personally believe his tale is one of the more tragic of all the incarnations. Yes, Elric is discriminated against for being albino and for betraying his kin and weilding a blade that sends people's souls to Hell, etc. But, Erekose was sucked from one world against his will and thrust into another. Then, after everything he did in the other world, and after he settled down with a wife, he's taken AGAIN to another world for more battle.

I need to reread Erekose's story, it's been a while! I guess it was also a case of imprinting on ELric first; he was the first Moorcock work I read. And I just seem to like albinoid characters in general.
Pretty much each of the eternal champions who's fate we're allowed to read about is tragic, just the ways are different. Elric i actually one of the less sympathetic ones, but that's also kinda what I like XD

(Hawkwind is a British-based band that started out in the 60's combining hard rock, psychadellic rock electronic rock and sci-fi and fantasy themes. Elric's creator, Mike Moorcock, was a good friend of the band and wrote a few songs for them.
Later in the 80's Hawkwind did a kick-ass hard rock album dedicated to Elric-Song of the Black Sword)
