Description
I'm so happy to be drawing Vagabonds characters again, especially when that means I get to draw Susan and all of her heavenly hair (somuchhair omg!!!I still need to come up with characters to be black, blue, green, grey, etc. A task that I'm very much looking forward to, though I am open to suggestions or proposed designs
It's also nice to be able to portray these two's interactions more in my art, since you can only say so much in a written scene without over crowding it. Though Grace and Susan are cousins, their relationship is much more sisterly/that of best friends. Two years older than grace, Susan reached her milestones first, and whenever she did she leapt at each of them with wild enthusiasm. Because of this Susan has never failed to get herself and those around her into trouble, though nothing ever seems to deter her. Grace has taken to learning from Susan's mistakes, even if she won't, and is therefore much more cautious, though none the less bold, than her fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants cousin. For this, they rely on one another, one to keep things interesting, and one to ensure that they remain reasonable and relatively safe.
Susan always says what she's thinking, especially when it's expressing something she wants, while Grace tends to keep her emotions, and especially her problems, to herself. Except of course when Susan coaxes it out of her, as only her best friend can.
Together they are very loud and very loving

I tried out a different style of shading on this one, using solid lines of color instead of blurring them. I think it gives it a sharper look, but it also takes a lot longer to do. But it's new, and I like the definition. What do you think?
<-- Some more art of Grace and Susan
<-- And if you'd like to read the story that these characters are from, you can find the intro and first few chapters here
Thanks guys!
And enjoy!

Oooh interesting! Great character designs, I really like the idea that their color scheme is determined by their parentage like that. And also, yes, that hair. My word.

(Your commenting on this means the world to me, thank you!!!!!

I'm so glad you like it! I was looking for someway to make them alien without going over the top, and a range of spectrum within their race seemed an interesting way to go (: Though the question I guess is how do they keep from eventually all ending up a sort of brownish color? Maybe it would be possible for genes to skip a generation, like they do in ours, to ensure that "primary" colors would still be passed down.
hehe, Big hair equals big love ^^

You are quite welcome! Sorry I'm so behind on your work, too, especially your writing. I do not time-manage well.
And good point about the coloration, but I think going with the gene-skipping thing would work. Luckily there's some wiggle room in sci-fi

Lol, very true
And that's so sweet, but you don't have to feel compelled to read all my stuff. I'm overjoyed just when someone looks at one of them. Your interest is enough for little ol' me <3
