Master Sergeant Joe Fitzpatrick and Apollo from Extinction War by Nicholas Sansbury SmithOne of my favorite series ever from a favorite author. I highly recommend it to any fans of sci-fi, military and thrilling action! I cannot express how good it is
____________________________
The worst of nature and the worst of science will bring the human race to the brink of extinction...
Master Sergeant Reed Beckham has led his Delta Force Team, codenamed Ghost, through every kind of hell imaginable and never lost a man. When a top secret Medical Corps research facility goes dark, Team Ghost is called in to face their deadliest enemy yet--a variant strain of Ebola that turns men into monsters.
After barely escaping with his life, Beckham returns to Fort Bragg in the midst of a new type of war. As cities fall, Team Ghost is ordered to keep CDC virologist Dr. Kate Lovato alive long enough to find a cure. What she uncovers will change everything.
Total extinction is just on the horizon, but will the cure be worse than the virus?

Hey this is really nice! I just think that the cartoonish big eyes don't look very... fitting..? Especially with the literal destruction of the world.

Thanks for the feedback! My style is definitely cartoonish. I'm still trying to finesse some stuff

Yeah I understand the struggle! I have an anime-ish art style, so thinking of drawing all the characters from books I read is constantly blocked by my art style, because I read a lot of horror or macabre books.

Those peg legs would be really hard to run on soft terrain with due to their small contact area but he's not giving up regardless.

In the third book Fitz mentions how the ground is so soft that he sinks in the sand (Or that was Riley, either way one of them was having trouble getting around)
