Description
These beautiful flowers were located in a cemetery in the center of Copenhagen. I think they're in relation with onions, or something - they really look like onion flowers, but probably aren't, reallyAs always, please tell me what you think

Do the colors seem natural to you? Or is the purple a little too violent?
What do you think of the focus and the composition of the photo - is the depth of field a little too shallow, or is it fine as is? What should I have done differently, and what would you have done?
All feedback is really appreciated.

It's allium flower.
It's beautiful, but it smells, and stains your clothes!

thanks and well, I didn't notice that it smelled when I handled them, but I know that there are a lot of different types of allium, maybe I found one that didn't smell that much

Did you cut them? That's when they smell. (in fact being a florist is my job, sometimes I can't help but say things like that about flowers. )

haha, well that must be the reason then - no I didn't cut them

Yes, a very good shot, they are alliums and again they are related to onions in the great family of Liliaceae, some as with onions are edible, but I wouldn't suggest you try these though
as for the purple being to violent there are so many different types of this sort of allium cross bred and having colours changed or refined I would say not

Your welcome, when it comes to anything to do with plants or the like I tend to just ramble on, some of my friends sometimes stand there
and wonder how I know so much about the subject, but like anything your passionate about you want to try and learn more
so hope you were not too

I don't think the purple is violent at all, it pops out of the picture naturally, bringing out the true focus of the picture Plus it's very pretty, and I love how you pictured it to the attention of one flower and leaving others a bit far in the background!

I think the depth of field is just a smidge shallow. It'd be much more effective if the stem was in focus as well. The colours are awesome and vibrant, but maybe a third one would have created a bit more visual interest. The composition is a little conventional. Maybe next time try different points of view, rather than just straight on. I would have shot from a lower view to give the flowers some sort of height, and maybe offset the focused flower to the side for a little interest.
All in all it's a good reference point to taking a better image!

My favorite flower! And my icon until I got this one. They are Flowering Onions , and you've captured some wonderfully distinct ones here. Excellent!

I have a pot of chives in my porch, pretty flowers and fresh herbs
The focus and depth of field is great.
