Description
A while back I did a couple illustrations for Leslie Cabarga's humor book "Topless Summer Love Girls; A Gentleman's Guide to Women, Relationships, and Breasts".[link]
This was one of my attempts at a playboy style gag cartoon for the book. It's intended to poke fun at sexism.
Gag written by Leslie Cabarga, art by me.
The book has been officially released, get it here:

Excellent images..... I have a project in the works you might find interesting.
I need and artist to create a 12' x 32' foam core backdrop for photoshoots at hot-rod and car events and shows.
Get in touch for details. Β Will be deciding on the artist for this project in about 6 weeks. Β In the mean time, I need a couple sketches and the like. Β illustrating this kind of set.
Later.

The late great columnist Lewis Grizzard once compared writing a regular newspaper column to being married to a nymphomaniac--the first two weeks, it's fun. Your artwork looks like a combo of a couple of Playboy cartoonists whose names escape me right now, so why not make a Playboy-stlye cartoon of your own?! I have a giant coffee table book of the best of their cartoons, listing all the artists, but it's buried in my closet somewhere. Sweet and funny art.

This pic actually made me laugh out loud. Women don't understand that we want it 90% of the time. [They want it about 60% of the time, but they are able to get it on THEIR terms not ours.]

That's not entirely true. There are plenty of us who want sex as often as men, we're just better at controlling ourselves. We're able to suppress it until we can get actually get what we want, but it seems like men have no self control so they always ask lol.

Actually that was my point m'lady. As I said, the woman gets sex on 'Her Terms' not his. ;]

I guess, our terms are more reasonable though! Waking someone up in the middle of the night is not reasonable! First thing in the morning before we even get up & wash our face, brush our teeth? Not reasonable! After we've had a long crappy day and just want to be left alone? Not reasonable!
Though granted sex at random times can keep a relationship for interesting.

Very true. The most interesting times were when she or I would wake the other up in the middle of the night, go at it like a pair of rabbid bunnies, enjoy our mutual orgasms, cuddle a bit, and then go back to sleep. [Damn I miss being able to do that!]

The waking me up in the middle of the night I'm not cool with. Luckily for me being a busy college student, it's even very often my boyfriend spends the night. He's not stupid enough to bother me while I'm sleeping. He will be cussed out, then I'll turn over and go back to snoozing.
I give him credit because he's probably one of the few men who's NOT unreasonable. He knows when and when not to ask, and he respects my wishes.

That's the thing though, you only have the 'wake up sex' after you've been sleeping in the same bed together for more than six months. That was one of the benefits of being married, you know what your partner likes sexually. And trust me, after you've been together for over a year in the same bed, middle of the night sex happens more often than you think. [In our case it was four or five times a month, and that was on top of our usual active sex life.]

I've been with my boyfriend for two years, we don't live together because my university is about an hour away from his hometown, so I just stay in an apartment, but he visits pretty often. But like I said, he does spend the night from time to time, but neither one of us wakes the other one up in the middle of night, we just sleep the entire time.
After being together that long and it never really being an issue, I conclude he doesn't care for it, and he knows I don't either.

Well you just might be one of those couples that doesn't. But then again the ex and I didn't start the 'middle of the night' routine until we'd been living together for about seven to eight months.

Hmm it's possible. I don't even know how we'd make living together work. We'd have to be somewhere half way between his university & mine. Besides, while I do enjoy sleeping next to him, he SNORES really bad sometimes. It's horrendous lol.

Machelle was the one that snored of the two of us, so I know where you're coming from. I was with her for almost seven years, we were married for five of those.
The crazy thing was, although we got together when she was twenty-one and I was twenty-two, she and I had sex like we were on our honeymoon until the last month and a half we were together. I just hope you and your boyfriend do that well together.

I know I'm only 19, but I'm actually quite mature for my age. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only sensible young person I know, and it's disappointing. There's nothing wrong with having a good time, but responsibility and common sense need to come first. 90% of my generation just doesn't get it.

Bubbaclaw In reply to ephoria516 [2010-12-07 05:44:36 +0000 UTC]
You're quite correct in that. Most of today's young adults don't see the point in moving out of their parents' home or doing anything more constructive than playing videogames. It kind of saddens me to think that this is how society is turning out.

It's not just being lazy, it's being irresponsible. I'm seriously sick of people who think college is for partying, drinking, doing drugs and having sex. IT'S NOT. College is to further your education, your knowledge of the world you live in. It's to help you achieve success through learning. I take my education seriously. But that's probably why I'm in the top 15% of my class & on the dean's list unlike most of my peers.
People may think I'm a little uptight and too straight edge, but I have to be or nothing gets done. That's okay though, we'll see who gets the last life. It'll be me when I'm President & CEO sitting in my fancy office on top of the world while the majority of my "colleagues" are working dead end jobs.

ephoria516 In reply to Bubbaclaw [2010-12-07 22:11:17 +0000 UTC]
Exactly. I mean sure, I get out and go have fun, but I always put my education first. That's the other thing, college is meant to be an investment, you get the return when you start you career. Eventually you make it all back with your profession. If you spend too much time partying and don't make the grades, you'll suffer a loss of tens of thousands of dollars. And it probably irritates me the most that people's parents pay for them to be there & they just screw around. You're wasting THEIR money, if you waste your own that's your problem, but throwing away someone else's investment is just wrong.

That's what they don't understand. They didn't EARN the money so it doesn't have that much value to them.
I just remembered something funny. I had my first job at sixteen, when I got my first paycheck I was reluctant to spend it because I'd EARNED the money and I wasn't sure what would be worth all those hours I'd slaved away at Micky D's.

Even money that isn't mine is still not worth wasting. Perhaps it comes as part of being a business major, but I'm constantly crunching numbers to manage the money I have. That includes what's actually mine, the little that my parents give me, & the money that comes from my financial aid. I may not have a lot, but I know how to stretch it as far as it needs to go.
I think if more people my age actually bothered to pay more attention to finances they'd be more grateful they have any at all. Not to sound cliche, but it doesn't grow on trees, somebody has to earn it. If it's not going to be you, at least respect the fact it's being given to you. Once you're over 18, you're parents don't have to spend their hard earned cash on ANYTHING for you, they do it because they care.
I'm lucky my jobs have been more fun lol. I've worked at a vet clinic a few times, been an intern at my dad's company & an english tutor for high school juniors and seniors. I've loved everything I've done so far.

Sounds like you've lucked out in life as far as jobs go. I've had jobs that I just plain HATED, but I did them to pay the bills. The last job that I had that I liked and paid really well ended after only nine months. [The company laid everyone off and moved the factory overseas.]
