Marie and Patricia (Peacock), were orphans and close friends. Marie found a maid uniform and wore it and it made her more grown up and the other orphans listened to her more. They were tortured and used as slaves by the Medici Mafia in the building. Patricia's eyes were gouged in by one of the Medici Mafia, causing her to go blind. After some time, Double comes in and introduces Marie the Skull Heart, convincing her to make a wish. Enraged about what happened, especially her friend Patricia, Marie makes a wish to eliminate the Medici Mafia as a way of revenge for what they did to her and Patricia. Thus making Marie the current Skullgirl. Double's main role is to make sure The Divine Trinity plans goes through, I think to finish the Skullgirl transformation, however Marie's strong will is able to resist it due to the fact that she wants to kill the Medicis.
