History He was born to a housecat belonging to an older woman who let two brothers take their pick of the litter. To the boys, the choice was obvious; the kitten's teeth were poking out in the most endearing way. They named him Blart, and fed him table scraps with love. He was an older kitten when he first met Laurel - Laurelpaw, but he took to calling her Laurel when she told him the 'paw' would change - an AntlerClan apprentice his age who had gotten a bit far from home. She was smitten with his silly charm and cluelessness about the outside world, and promised to come back. She did, many times, becoming his girlfriend and then mate once she was captured and brought in the house. But all this while, Blart was changing. His humans took to posting pictures and videos of him online, and he was a hit. As the living room filled with tributes to his image, Blart grew more and more conceited, and Laurelspots (then dubbed "Mall-Cop") less and less interested. When she was pregnant, he suggested they name a kit "Yanny" since it "sounded so much like 'Laurel'" and she lost her temper, because of all the little things building up (and they literally did not sound anything alike to her). He thought she would be over it by morning, but it turned out she was over him - the she-cat had escaped to go home.

Unbeknownst to Blart, his one kit, a son named Aspenkit, then later Toothshard, grew to be the deputy of his clan, and father of Sturgeonkit, Raisinkit, and Kestrelkit (and Skullkit). Laurelspots had found a new mate, but passed away a little over a year after she left. Her status would weigh on Blart's mind at night, but he was comfortable, trending, and increasingly afraid of confrontation as the years went by. Three years after Laurelspots's departure, he thought he saw her out his window. When he went for a closer look, there was one cat there, an unfamiliar tom that resembled the once-couple. Toothshard bolted the moment Blart opened his mouth, vanishing into the dark...
