unlike a good majority of the other apprentices- at least to his knowledge -cloudy was born a fernclan cat by two of what he used to believe to be it's finest warriors, heathertoes and briarpeat. he is the sole survivor of his litter, the couple's only surviving child thus far, and as if to punish the young lovers further the child isn't exceptionally healthy either. he didn't do much better than his stillborn kin at first, eyes not opening for the longest while- when they did they were heavily clouded, hence the kits name, along with somewhat useless -and was barely able to take the milk he needed from his lacking mother no matter what the medicine cat tried.

apprenticeship
however, as he grew older and begun his training, both his mother and father began to stray from their son; leaving him to his own devices once they recognized that although his sight was still horrendous his other senses had honed themselves to make up for it. he spent most of his time training and the other half waiting for a new mentor, each one abandoning him in one way or another by death, retirement, or relocation until he finally fell under the wing of lostwhisker- a tom with a marred maw and a lovely mate whom quickly took the neglected child under her care.

it was peaceful, for a short while, despite his pessimistic attitude as he was finally being properly treated however as if to make balance once more an array of awful events took him- he was maimed by a molly named lunarfrost whilst she was hunting a fox and beaten by a bearclan bruiser after accidentally crossing over borders hunting. he spent two moons recovering enough to a point where he could start walking about again, he began to wander outside of fernclan more and more, running into various kinds of cats all the meanwhile including a tom named redpaw; they hit it off almost immediately, flirted briefly, and promised to see each other again.

he had planned too as well until there was a large falling out between him, his mentor, and his mother- flamerose and him left fernclan shortly after this and caught up in finding a place to seek asylum the calico tom was forgotten.

the young tom fluffs up considerably, his usually smooth fur going askew at the question posed, eyes averting as he trips over his words slightly. "i-- ah-- he's another wildclanner, around my age, uh-- he's--- he's something alright." he hesitates, then sighs loudly, pawing awkwardly at the ground as he continues more honestly. "i like spending time with him, it's... relaxing, and he's pretty cute too."

"she thinks she's so clever but all she does is spew shit she's heard from other people back out and strike low like a coward, i'm not surprised cats don't like her, ugh- starclan above do i pity goldenpaw."

"i love her, she's amazing, and i'm glad she decided to take me in. life has been a lot more easy with her around, even with my downs she just wants whats best for me, it's the first time anyone's ever really genuinely cared about me before and it's fantastic."
