origin : mistake

backstory : camas and lotus's father cloudy wanted to bear kits before his eyesight left him, and convinced smokebillow, a wildclan warrior, to help him out. the twins were identical, and a little bit too in-synch. no one even knows which is camas and which is lotus - not even themselves. they never considered themselves separate entities anyway. cloudy was asked to keep the two on the windward side of the mountain due to there being a blood feud involving him and some scrapclan cats (shredshadow, monsterpaw, lighterpaw, venompaw, weepingpaw, needlepaw, scorpionpaw, and spiderpaw), and was also asked to get help in raising the kits.

rp history : unfortunately, the hope he helped for, his mother rose and friend goldenrays, died, so the only one watching out for the kits regularly was grandma chaparralpelt, a creepy ghost with a bloody throat watching them from the bushes. cloudy couldn't see her, but camas and lotus could. they also received visits from smokebillow. while cloudy was in a fight, defending smokebillow from some apprentices, a cat named lichenbreeze told camas and his twin all sorts of wonderful stories about their father and his past. cloudy returned to his young clawed up and in for another level of hell.

the twins were insufferable, and cloudy wanted out. he ran into hoot, his former mentor and deceased adoptive mother's mate who seriously considered murdering him before, and his surviving daughter eel, and it gave him an idea. cloudy and hoot "talked" while eel took care of lotus and camas, but they managed to escape from her. eel walked in on cloudy's successful - if you can call it that - seduction of her father, and stormed out, vowing to never return. camas and lotus had meanwhile managed to exhume moth, hoot's other daughter. by the time they showed him what they found, cloudy had fled the scene, dumping the twins on hoot. chaparralpelt did not really entirely respect hoot's custody, and led the kits away from him, and all the way to the other side of the mountains where they were forbidden to go.

she could still hunt, tangible as a living cat. once there, she got them to wait once she found the perfect spot - a dip in the ground containing a well-concealed rattlesnake. once needlepaw, spiderpaw, and their mother polarspirit were close, they started mewing so that they would approach. each of them were bitten and killed by the time they had killed the snake, but the twins had fled by then. they were allowed to do whatever they wanted and she would simply ensure they didn't die. they went back around the mountain, back to the area they had come from, and went into dampclan camp.

they found periwinklekit, who was younger than them, and took him from the camp. curious, they cut his back to get at his blood, but luckily for the little kit, centipedepaws found them and protected him. lotus and camas were enamored with centipedepaws instantly, finding his extra legs and tail to be the ideal body, but their advances were thwarted by hoot and cloudy's return. while hoot and cloudy were arguing about their upcoming litter, camas and lotus got away again, and went east to desertclan.

ewepaw, a new apprentice, was alone in the desert, and, after a struggle, the kits removed an eyeball from her, and drank the fluid it contained. she got away, and soon, ironstar and whiskerfall had the kits, not yet knowing that they were the ones who had attacked ewepaw. but they would not go with them easily. they peed, pooped, made cruel comments, and walked in circles. eventually, ironstar picked one up, but not the other. they screamed and cried as if they had been literally ripped in two. when they were finally in camp, they were soon taken out by chollamask, who brought them to their grandmother, who was hiding in the foliage and shadows, pretending to be a living cat.

at the next gathering, she had them approach their distant cousin goldenpaw, but they were interrupted by whiskerpaw, who had been trying to talk to goldenpaw when he saw the kits and panicked, now knowing what they did. goldenpaw didn't know, and thought whiskerfall was trying to kill kits, and by the time marigoldsear was sorting everything out, the twins had gone off to hide, after winking sweet nothings at centipedepaws. soon after, cloudy gave birth to his second litter. unimpressed, camas returned to propose and be rejected by centipedelegs, on the basis of being way too young.
