This was done for of his OC villain team The Cataclysm. They are rather like an evil Fantastic Four in a way with their powers reflecting each of the four elements.You can read about their bios and powers in the links below.

No, I wasnt planning on leaving the DU for any sort of slight or problem. I just dont have time for it and to finally work on my official Mr Happy comic books. I love the DU but its a big draw on my time. I am going to try to stick it out by just doing the single challenges but I wont have time to produce any more comics pages. We'll see how it goes. While the DU has was a great proving ground for developing concepts and introducing Mr Happy its way past time I get the real thing going.

Fantastic posse! I like how they're mostly unrelated yet tied together by their powers. Even two different approaches to 'blue'. My favorite is the air guy. Now I've said that I suspect I'm biased.

An evil Fantastic Four, huh? Funny, never saw it that way.
My main inspiration for them way back when was the concept of the four generals from the first season of Sailor Moon
That and the Fiends of Elements from Final Fantasy IV.

Growing up on Marvel Comics and not Sailor Moon that was the first thing that struck me when I learned of their power sets. Yeah once I knew what the powers were I wanted to give a little taste of them in the image. Glad you liked it, I was determined to make it my very best work since you having to wait so long.

I'm just a sucker for element-based powers/characters
I too grew up with Marvel and DC cartoons. However, as a fragile teen Sailor Moon introduced me to a completely new concept:
Having the heroes die in the end
Today I know that's just Japanese television for ya. They are alergic to happy endings.
But back then I was almost shocked.

I can deal with it but it can be brutal. There was this one not too long ago with Chow Yun Fat called Curse of the Golden Flower that just had the most horribly downer ending.
