How big is she?
also, what's it like owning a wolfdog? I've heard they require a lot more maintenance than other dogs, and that you have to treat them like wolves, too, like you have to adjust yourself as alpha, right?

She's about 85lb, but closer to 90 in the winter. It's mostly the malamute that gives her size, though- her grandmother is 120+ full malamute. Although she's very different than a dog in behavior, such as how she holds herself around people (even though she's very friendly and loves belly rubs like any dog) she is scared of people she doesn't know, and it takes days for her to come up to someone new (not all the time- differnet people have longer or shorter times). I think the only maintance that's different, but not more, than a normal dog, is her enclosure. She doesn't live in the house. I think it's always safe to assume they will be like wolves and not dogs, so you're prepared. It's really random what wolf traits they show, though somewhat less random when you get them from a good breeder. As for being "alpha", if you mean having the respect of the dog, that's very important but not radicaly different than an "alpha" relationship with a normal dog (rescue wolfdogs are different). If you don't let the dog treat you like a puppy, ask for respect and attention, stay firm with rules, you're already alpha. There are testy wolf dogs, but there's also a great community out there that's always happy to help open-minded people.Β

she's beautiful. Did she bury anything in there? A bone? An entire skeleton maybe?

She was just digging for fun, although she does burry bones I give her. I gave her an entire roadkill deer once; I still uncover bones from it when cleaning her pen. She always makes sure to take them back and re-hide them XD
