Ive been dying to do a sci-fi monster piece for a long time now and this one has elements that ive been trying to incorporate into a composition for a long time.
I glanced at a few photos of various abandoned factories, camcorders and CDC biohazard suits for accuracy's sake, in addition to several close-up stills of a couple 80's horror movies used to get the expression I wanted for the foreground victim.

The inspiration for this piece came from being a fan of "Ghosthunters", playing Condemned: Criminal Origins and C.H.U.D. ( which is an acronym for Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers..or what the shadowy organization dubbed it originally before all hell broke loose: Contained Hazardous Urban Disposal ) a b-horror movie from the 80's, some of you may remember it.
Oh and lots of Skinny Puppy.

this is great man. one of the best i have seen with photoshop. i am definitely gonna have to keep an eye on ur work from now on. i like how rich the colors are and realistic everything looks. this reminds me of DOOM 3.

thats amazing, mainly because both horror and, in some ways, comedy are in just the right doses. I say comedy because the creature basically has a trunk rofl.

The detaiils and the expressions are in balance to create the atmosphere of the scene displayed correctly. It is in fact quite good, I hope to see more from you in this genre/quality.
