Ive been dying to do a sci-fi monster piece for a long time now and this one has elements that ive been trying to incorporate into a composition for a long time.
I glanced at a few photos of various abandoned factories, camcorders and CDC biohazard suits for accuracy's sake, in addition to several close-up stills of a couple 80's horror movies used to get the expression I wanted for the foreground victim.

This is pretty much the best thing I've ever seen on this site. The lighting/shading and the foggy atmosphere is absolutely intense, not to mention how well you captured the different surfaces of various materials.
I'm a huge fan of survival-horror videogames like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, etc. and this gives off the same feelings and emotions as those games give me, which makes me extremely giddy.
The combination of the horrified expression on the victims face and the glitchy monitor on the camcorder are completely terrifying.

Its very inspiring to me to hear what impressions and reactions people give - it makes me want to work harder.
I love survival horror as well - I had just finished Condemned: Criminal Origins when I started working on this one; it obviously influenced me heavily since I really tried to capture an oppressive and ominous mood that I experienced in that game - try it its excellent.

It could very well be a mutant, or alien..or perhaps a human/alien hybrid..or extra-dimensional creature!

Its essentially an "experiment gone horrifically wrong" type idea.
I have a little movie running in my head of the whole story of what happens but I prefer to hear what other people come up with - its really fun to hear peoples impressions and ideas.

I drew percil drawings Doom-type furry/anthro mutant monsters for my made-up corporation, their job is to "create" their imagination. Your creature is un-tellable, it got tentacles around its mouth and its skin does match any creature from this reality.
