Description
One of this weeks 20min speedpaints that I wanted to show seperately. For two reasons. One being I liked it. And two, to speak out about the comments I'm getting lately asking if im inspired by some Doctor Who stuff. If people took the effort to look in my gallery they will see this imagery coming up from many years ago. It's ever so insulting that my stuff may be overlooked as simply a reflection of recent pop culture. This is an idea/visual that has been important to me for many years. I wouldn't ever divulge the reasons why, and rather leave that up to the viewers. But not fucking Doctor Who.Related content

What I flashed on was the first book of a trilogy by James P. Hogan and the first scene was somebody finding a spacesuited skelton on the moon that was 50,000 years old, anyway great piece. Thank You

Saying I love this is an understatement. Your dead cosmonauts are the reason I watch your work. I too have an obsession with the concept... well I love cosmonauts in general but particularly the idea of a ghost/dead cosmonaut deeply resonates with me, although I'm not entirely quite sure the reason why. Anyway keep up the incredible work. Doing something this amazing in 20 min is ridiculous! And I'd love to be able to get this as a print somewhere.

Whoever thought that this series is derivative of Doctor Who needs to have their head examined.

Why I'm a fan of Doctor Who myself (hehe), but I've never thought that your works may be inspired by the series.
Your works and DW's skeletons in spacesuits are absolutely different! They have different atmosphere, they produce very different emotions, they have nothing in common for me. And your works are much greater if truth be told. And darker.
So, not every DW fan thinks that your paints are some fanart. And it's clear thet they mean a lot to you. Maybe that's why they are so astonishing.

Wow, that was kind of an overreaction. As if someone who maybe just happened to see your art on the front page is going to think "hmm, maybe I should look through his entire gallery and find the origins of that skeleton in an astronaut suit."

Really? I thought i was being restraint. Maybe how i view art on this site and comment differs from a lot of people. I stand by what I say.

I've never seen Doctor Who myself, so this is a staple of your art for me and it belongs to you and only you. However I don't think it would be so terrible if it actually was based on a Doctor Who concept. It's not "simply" a reflection of pop culture, it's a personal take on it and it's still your voice.
But I understand your point. Just wanted to say that. It's a really expressive piece of art, and I think I'll die before knowing how the hell you do that disturbingly beautiful distorted effect.

I kid Been sitting here all day being jealous of your very, very articulate speedpaints and trying to figure out how much technique I can steal. Thanks for sharing 'em, they all rock hard.

There was a skeleton in an astronaut suite once in Doctor Who. This is obviously a lot more than just that. Theres so much more feeling and emotion in these. The fact that you can get so much of a facial expression with a skull is amazing to me. Awesome work.

The colours and texturing is fantastic, and I really can't imagine how you did this in 20 minutes. Bravo, man, bravo.
