Description Another of my dragons :V
I'm still stuck in fan art phase apparently.

Still thinking about doing commissions. Anyone with experience/know-how can tell me how other artists are doing it? I know they go
on the forums but I literally just figured out how to change my signature (still a newbie to the forum area). Any advice would be appreciated.
Like, what are "bumps" on the forums? People just post "bump" as a comment. What is that?

Back to my anti social corner now >_>

Lol, "bumps" are used to push a thread to the front page of the forums so people have a better chance at seeing it. Seeing as people do not usually go through all of the pages in the forum, it is most likely that your customers will be people who see your thread on the very first art forum page and not the second or third or so on.

I've got an art thread and I've been fairly successful, so I could give ya some pointers if ya wanted?

That would be very helpful. Would you mind linking me to your thread as well?

I could use all the help I can get P: I'm a little paranoid on forums (for no real reason
other than anxiety). One thing I definitely want to ask, how do you "give" people
their commissions? Here on DA, you can just download them but how do you go about
it? I've been told to submit to places like photobucket or whatnot for the owners to get
them.

Of course! Here's mine: Link (I'm organizing things right now so it's a tad messy)

I use photobucket and puush to share the artwork with my customers. Photobucket allows you to use the direct url for the image. So when you start a message on the forums there's a little tree symbol on the tool bar you can click on and it will ask for a url. If you input the url from photobucket then the image will show in the message. I usually do this for small images or sneak peaks and such. I use puush for the final image, which opens up a new tab with just the image. (you can download push for free and it's super easy to use)

Of course you could just use photobucket for everything, but if you delete the image on photobucket then it won't show up in the thread either. It's good to have examples easily viewable for people and reasonable prices!

Great ;D Thanks for that!

This is super useful. I didn't even know about puush so I'll check that out.

I hope more questions wouldn't bother ya~
Do you know what prices are good? Of course things would depend on art
quality, size, and whatnot, but what are examples of prices you've seen or
done that people are okay with? (such as for headshots, full bodies...)

I generally go more expensive the longer something takes me. So for small busts that I recolor I only charge 5-10K treasure! It's not a lot, but a lot of people get them so it's worth it. I kinda just go up by 5K from there, so the next thing time wise would be 10-15K and so on. For full pieces I charged 30-40K (which is still really cheap for the amount of time I put in ; u ; ). I've seen successful artists charge over 100K treasure for full pieces too, so I guess you just have to judge what people will want to spend? The average I've been seeing is 20-30K treasure for most people's stuff.

I've always liked having something really cheap that's easy for me to finish quickly as the main focus, and then have the more expensive stuff as an option ' u ' I've seen other people just offer everything too, so I guess that's your call to make!

Super helpful again, thanks c;
I think I can finally manage up some prices now. I was recently up in
tumblr to check other people's prices and this one person, who did
great sketches, got complaints for over 4k. I was shocked but I assume it
was due to people wanting "free" art I suppose. But it's good to know
now that people are willing to spend to get some art

Yay! You're welcome of course ' u '

Oh what...4K is like nothing, nobody should complain about that!

I'm glad I could help, and if you make a thread I will DEFINITELY get something from you ^ u ^
