Base 1 - Stare Contest

My own head cannons and universe for the MLP franchise, obviously not cannon

Captain Lightning Dust of the Lightningbolts

   -Leader of a trick-flying sub-division for the Wonderbolts

   -Trains her recruits how to safely do dangerous stunts

   -Was approached by Spitfire after a performance, who was lightly encouraged to recruit the former trainee by her wife

   -Is still hardcore rivals with Dash, but it's now a bit of a running joke

Captain Rainbow Dash of the Thunderbolts

   -Leader of a long-distance flight team after shattering Wind Rider's record

   -Trains up her recruits stamina and speed

   -Still dabbles in Trick flying, but is mainly a racer nowadays



Random nuggets of information

   -The two fly together a lot, and perform for all the new recruits in the Spring in hopes to recruit new members

   -There are three academies for the Wonderbolts now and a lot of students have to go through training with the Lightningbolts and Thunderbolts before becoming Wonderbolts

   - Wonderbolts : Combine speed, stamina, agility and tricks for their performances, the most elite flight group in Equestria and beyond

   - Lightningbolts : Hyper focus on agility and tricks and provide safety instruction. The academy with the highest injuries

   - Thunderbolts : Hyper focus on speed and stamina, and also provide weather tolerance courses

   - The events of 'The Washouts' did in fact happen, only slightly different in my universe. Lightning's motives are the same, but she didn't force Scoots to do the stunt. The button was accidentally hit by Scoots herself, because I personally find what Lightning did in the episode cruel and criminal.
