° PERSONALITY °"Virtue shall be bound into the hair of thy forelock. I have given thee the power of flight without wings." - author unknownBold (under saddle) | Curious | Impatient (under saddle) | Gentle | Impulsive (under saddle)
Quentin has changed a lot during his life. He was born a troublemaker and zippy like a bouncy ball, hence why he
was aptly named "Jet Stream". When he got older, Quentin got a lot calmer, although he still has his wild moments
from time to time. His change in personality is probably caused by the injury he suffered as a three-year-old, which
is further explained in Quentin's history. Nowadays he is one of our most well-behaved stallions, very gentle around
mares and rarely bossy with other stallions.
Under saddle Quentin can get overexcited and he needs an experienced rider who can deal with his "outbursts". We
saw him bolt under inexperienced riders and would rather not see that happen in the future. Despite this flaw, Quentin
is a good eventer and very focused once you get him under control. On some days he lacks the patience for dressage,
but dressage exercise is important to keep him healthy, it's especially important for his previously injured left front leg.
While he is a decent jumper, he sometimes can't pull his left front leg up far enough and ends up dropping a pole. His
favorite discipline is cross country. You can tell that he loves the speed and thrill this discipline can give.

° HISTORY °
As mentioned in his personality, Quentin was a troublemaker as a foal, yet he was very promising to his owners.
His sire had an impressive racing record to boost and his dam had thrown several fine race horses. Quentin was
a little difficult to train, but eventually responded well to his training and was among the better colts of his stable.
He won his maiden race and both of his next races in his two-year-old season. As a rough diamond, he still needed
a bit of polishing before he could take on stronger opponents though.
A few weeks after he turned three years old and a week before his fourth race, Quentin suddenly stumbled and fell
during a workout. He was diagnosed with a tendon rupture and had to be put on box rest for six months. Tied to the
same place all the time, Quentin lost some of his spirit and stopped eating on a few occasions. When he was considered
physically "healthy" by the vet, he was broken mentally. After water therapy and other special treatments, Quentin was
started under saddle again, but he wouldn't speed up properly and was rather unwilling to work with his jockey. He was
entered in two more races, him placing eight in the first one, but Quentin actually managed to win the second one.
After that race he was disqualified before the start in two races due to his left front leg being hot and tender. It
turned out that he wouldn't be able to continue his racing career and at that point it was questionable if he could
be ridden in the future.
Due to his general ability and good genetic makeup, his owners decided to retire him to be a stud. At first he seemed
to be satisfied with his "new life", but he soonish started to show signs of boredom. Although Quentin's first foals
seemed as equally promising as he was as a young colt and his owners would have liked him to stay a stud, it was
decided that he needed something else to do. Quentin's vet said that only time would tell if his leg could support
the work under saddle and that his condition could worsen to a point were it would be necessary to put him down.
Despite the risk, Quentin was started under saddle for the third time.
In the beginning he was awfully stiff and tense. His rider had a hard time getting him to relax. On a particularly
bad day, during a hack, Quentin stopped suddenly and wouldn't move an inch. His rider got off and tried walking
him, but neither would he move then. She got desperate, pulling on his reins and trying to push him. She
fought him for half an hour before Quentin gave up and moved. The stallion hardly listened to her though and
she was almost beyond exhaustion. Near a lake she tied Quentin to a tree and went to the water to cool off. The
intelligent, cheeky guy Quentin was at that time, he loosened the reins and approached the water. A few seconds
later he was splashing around in the water as if he was some kind of sea creature. His rider couldn't believe her eyes
when he laid down and rolled in the water.
That experience started his cross country, or rather his eventing career.
Quentin is 13 years old now and was recently bought by the LCEC. He still has a lot to give as an eventer and will
hopefully continue to bring home great results as he did for his former owner. On a side note: Quentin has adapted
to a life as a competitor and a stud. He is open to approved Thoroughbred, Arabian and Warmblood mares during
breeding season in spring and competes during the rest of the year.

this guy seems perfect, would you take breeding with Jerry and art payment?
if so, would you design the foal?
