I see that as an assembly of semiconductor microchips connected via tiny optical fibres in a regular fashion .... FPGA actually look like this ...
sorry my interpretation is very different from the one you had ...
Cool it is

I saw the microchips as well. I chose the name 'Digital Quilt' since in my view it is an ambiguous name. Digital meaning microchips or the fact this is computer generated. Either works. Quilt because it has a quilt like feel to it, be it literally as in a sewn quilt or simply in the sense of 'quilted', which can be sometimes be seen in aerial views of houses and green spaces in cities, for example. So, nothing to apologize for, your 'interpretation' is spot on. There could be other possible things one could see in any abstract piece d'art such as this. You simply see what you see.

pretty cool it is .... because the optical connectivity would not be something like metal lines for carrying signals. It would definitely be flexible like a screen, it could be bend folded etc. So in essence that seems to be a more complete name ...

I'm reminded of portcullises and circuit boards, and perhaps even the front elevation of a grand building - the white parts give a unique effect
