are you aware of how expensive 8 ball's are? those things would cause a crash in the market.

I dunno, there's that one side quest where if you have a high enough medical skill, you can save an NPC and get it as a reward.

yeah well my medical skill is not the best. my highest stat is knowledge and navigation.

That's where temporary stat buffs come in.
Although if you have access to those, it'd probably be better to cut out the middle man and just buff luck before you get to the checks....
