...and while Wylie was in the car, these guys were on the other side of the road, near houses just beside the lagoon. Universally known as Galahs by anyone I've ever talked to, they can sometimes be seen in enormous numbers, particularly on the mainland, but there were only about eight or ten together here. In tasmania they're actually an introduced species. I see them much less often than sulphur crested's.The red-eyed one is the female of the pair
