I thought this was Link in the Silent Realm for a second, with the puddles of water and the grayer, melancholy look, but then I realized "Oh, wait, he has his sword." Beautiful picture.

Fantastic atmosphere on this one, reminds me of the mistier part of Faron Woods in Twilight Princess, but much more foreboding. Especially with that faint figure in the mist ahead of him. I also like the way you drew Link here; to me he looks a bit curious, but definitely cautious, what with having his sword at the ready like that.

Can you imagine looking up in these woods, and it being so misty that all the treetops are hidden from view?
All the creepy crawlies wriggling out of their holes, watching as you walk by.
Flitters of movement in the corner of your eye, but when you turn there's nothing there.
Soft earth, yielding water as your boots slowly sink--

It would definitely get really spooky after a little while. Especially if I kept seeing weird figures in the mist like the one in your picture.

I really love this piece! The lack of colour gives it an eerie feeling--and the red petals contrast with the grey-scale land, adding to the feeling of mysterious danger; since Link is shown in more saturated colours, it immediately identifies that he's not from this landscape, and it helps draw the viewers attention to him first (then the red petals and bright puddles helps the eye move around the rest of the scene). The puddles of water are amazingly rendered, as are all the small details to this piece. The balance and composition of this piece is simply incredible; this is really a beautiful piece. Also, is that I giant spider I see crawling down that branch? Another nice touch to add to the overall mood of the piece.

I love to think of the Lost Woods like this... with strange roots and fog that forces you to wander this way and that. The silence around Link only amplifies his footsteps. The creatures blending almost perfectly with the environment.
Good job catching that spider - I hope our hero spots it before it's too late
(and if you look close, you may see a faint figure, dancing in the mist ahead of Link...)

Oh, okay. ^_^ Yeah, it does seem to have that dark atmosphere that was in Twilight Princess and Majora's Mask. The melody reminded me of the Ocarina of Time that Skull Kid stole from Link at the very beginning of the game so I guess Majora's Mask actually DOES make sense.
