You raised an eyebrow at your friend, “why did you pick out this one?” your friend only laughed and pushed you into your room to change.
When you emerged from your room your friend squealed in excitement, “you look so cute (y/n)!!!!” your face lit up with a bright blush, “thanks…” they grabbed your hand and ran outside, you were shoved into the passenger seat of your friends car and taken to the party.
When you got there you immediately went to find John, a good friend of yours and your flush crush. You found John playing volleyball in the pool, “hey John!” you waved at the derpy boy who turned and smiled at you, “hey (y/n)!” he jumped up and grabbed your shoulders, pulling you into the water with him. When you both came out of the water, you splashed him, “why did you pull me in?” his smile grew wider, “I wanted you to come in! I like your swim suit by the way…” his face had a light blush on, as did yours.
You were talking with John when jade, on Dave’s shoulders, kicked water at you and John, “come play chicken with us!” John disappeared from sight only to come up under you, pulling you onto his shoulders, “you’re on!” John moved at Dave as fast as he could through the water. You grabbed Jades shoulders and tried to push her down, “hey (y/n), I like your swimsuit! Did you pick it out for Joooohnnn~?” your face exploded into a bright red blush that could put Karkat to shame. You began stuttering and you let go of Jades shoulders, only to be pushed in.
You came out of the water sputtering, you had inhaled water and it stung your nose. John swam over to you quickly, “(y/n)! are you ok?” he rubbed your back in small circles, “y-yeah….just inhaled some water…” he continued to rub your back for a little while longer, “hey, (y/n)….what Jade said…was that true?” you shook your head slowly, “no…(f/n) picked it out for me to wear…she thought it would get me together with my crush…” your face turned a light shade of pink and you gestured to the edge of the pool, “let’s go sit down John.”

It was now dark; you and John were sitting side by side at the pools edge. You were wearing Johns shirt since you didn’t bring a change of clothes, “hey (y/n)?” you looked over at your derpy friend who was looking in the water with a light blush on his face, “yeah John?” he looked at you, his pretty blue eyes staring into your own (e/c) ones, “who did (f/n) pick that out to match? The two of you sat in silence for awhile before you were pulled into John’s frame in a tight hug, “good. I’m not sure I could handle anyone else having you.” Your face grew brighter, “y-you like me?” you felt his chest shake with laughter, “yeah. I have for awhile.” He tilted your head up and kissed you lightly, “so…will you be my girlfriend (y/n)?” you nodded and kissed John again. The moment was ruined by the two of you being pushed into the pool by Jade and Dave who ran away, Jade yelling, “lovebirds!!”
John pulled you into another hug, “I love you (y/n)”
