“(f/n), what the hell is this?” you held up the swimsuit, glaring at your friend who laughed, “it’s a swimsuit!” you put the swimsuit down and fixed your friend with the intensity of your (e/c) gaze. Its point was to intimidate them but it wasn’t working, (f/n) simply laughed and pushed you into the bathroom to get changed.
You stepped out of the bathroom and grabbed a pair of yoga pants, pulling them on. Then you walked downstairs and to the living room where (f/n) was waiting, they looked over at you and smiled, “it looks good on you (y/n), except for the pants but that’s ok! I trust you will take them off with due time…and KARKAATTT~~~” they emphasized the trolls name and waved their eyebrows at you. A blush grew on your face, but you just flipped them off and went to the party.
Upon your arrival, you immediately wanted to go home. Your friend ran off to the pool while you went to the sitting area where you found Karkat on the couch watching a Romcom on the television. You went over and sat with him, recognizing the movie immediately, “you’re watching the Proposal? That’s a good movie.” Karkat glanced over at you then quickly turned away, “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WEARING (y/n)!?!?” you looked down; you hadn’t put a shirt on so you just went with your bikini top.
“I’m wearing a swimsuit…as you are.” He had a pair of grey swim trunks on and a black t-shirt, his face had a hint of red on it, upon seeing it, you attacked, “ooohhhhh~ you’re blushing!” he glared at you, his red eyes meeting your own (e/c) ones, “WELL MAYBE I HAVE A FEVER?” you put a hand on his forehead, “no you don’t.” Karkat leaned back, spluttering, “W-WELL…..J-JUST SHUT UP!” you were about to ask more questions when John walked in, “let’s play truth or dare!”
Everyone was forced to sit in the circle and play, after a few awkward confessions, some make outs, some streaking, and a river dance, Johns eyes landed on you, “(y/n), truth or dare?” you sighed, you could chose dare and do something embarrassing, or chose truth and say something embarrassing. You finally sighed, “truth.” John smiled widely, “well ,I think everyone wants to know, who are you crushing on?” your face became bright red and you glared at John, “f-fine! I….I like Karkat…” the last part was quiet, but Terezi caught it and stood up, “SHE LIKES KARKAT! PAY UP!” a few hands handed her 5 boondollars and she sat down, laughing. You stood up and walked to the kitchen.
You slamed the fridge door and opened your soda, carrying it out to the pool. You were sitting on the edge of the pool, your feet kicking the water. Someone came and sat next to you, you looked up and met Karkats eye, “HEY (y/n)…” you sighed and set your soda next to you, “hey Karkat…” the two of you sat in an awkward silence until Karkat sighed, “YOU KNOW. I WAS IN ON TEREZI’S BET TOO. I JUST BET THAT YOU WOULDN’T LIKE ME BACK…” you processed what he said, “like you back?” you looked up at him and he smiled slightly, brushing a strand of (h/c) hair away from your face, “I LIKE YOU TOO NOOKSTAIN…” he leaned down and kissed you quickly, then he stood and walked back inside.
He turned and looked at you, “I’m going to my hive to watch a few movies. Want to come?” you jumped up and followed him.

You two had spent the whole night watching movies together, eventually falling asleep during 27 Dresses. When you woke up you were on the couch with a blanket around you, you heard footsteps coming from down the hall, you looked over and saw Karkat walk in with a towel around his waist. You blushed and looked away, covering your face, “HEY (y/n). WHY DON’T YOU GO TAKE A SHOWER?” he tossed a towel over the couch, you grabbed it and ran upstairs.
When you came down the stairs, Karkat pulled you into a kiss, “I JUST REALIZED I FORGOT TO ASK YOU LAST NIGHT BUT WILL YOU BE MY MATESPRITE?” you nodded and kissed him again.
