You can see I changed the ref around by making Crowfeather a lot bigger, and tilting the whole thing to the side. And, as usual, I purposely made the head shape different. Looks like I am slowly but surely learning how to use refs without downright copying them

So yes, I ship Squow! Damn, you can replace the first letter of the name of any guy you ship Squirrelflight with with Sq, and it sounds adorable. Squow, Sqamble, Squash, Squorm…the list could go on. But yep, as you probably guessed, Squirrelflight and Crowfeather. Now, as much as I love SquirrelxBramble, and I really do, I’ve cheated on the ship twice! Despite trying to remain faithful to the ship, I have become quite fond of and even started to ship BramblexFeather and BramblexSorrel. So…if I have alternate ships for Brambleclaw, it’s only fair I have at least one for Squirrelflight too, amirite? I mean, she’s not my favorite, but I don’t want her to die alone. And she’s just so damn shippable! And hey, I love the idea of Crowfeather and Brambleclaw having a mate swap type of thing X3 Ironically, there are actually very few Squirrelflight shippings that I actually like :/ SquirrelxStorm I’ve never liked much because his crush on her just seemed so random and unneccesary that I didn’t even pick up on it when I read TNP for the first time. I’m not a huge fan of StormxBrook either, but StormxSquirrel is just kinda…no. I guess in theory they’d make a nice couple, but it doesn’t seem worth the forbidden romance. Unlike SquirrelxCrow and FeatherxBramble, which are TOTALLY worth the forbiddenness! And then there’s AshxSquirrel, which I’ve always hated for a lot of reasons. Okay, he is WAY too old for her and it was really creepy when he started going after her. Granted, Brambleclaw’s a bit old for her as well, but he’s quite a bit younger than Ashfur. Then there was the fact that he was overprotective, which pissed Squirrelflight off as well as me. I don’t think any guy should be overprotective in a relationship…it’s condescending, not romantic. I hate any relationship where the guy won’t let the girl fight her own battles, and with Squirrelflight especially it’s important to let her do that. Then, of course, Ashfur gets all butthurt when Squirrelflight dumps him, and refuses to be friends like a rude-ass. Talk about a guy who can’t take the friendzone! And let’s not forget that he tried to MURDER HER KITS to get back at her. No matter what the Ashfur fangirls say, that is NOT okay. I could go into why I don’t like some other popular Squirrelflight crack pairings, but I don’t really feel like like. SquirrelxBramble, SquirrelxCrow, and SquirrelxSpider (Yep, I do kinda ship this one! It’s basically second-generation SandxDust) are the only pairings with Squirrelflight that I actually like.

So…you’re probably wondering what my opinions on CrowxFeather and CrowxLeaf are. Well…I used to ship them both, ironically. I didn’t honestly even have a preference, I liked them both the same. I always thought FeatherxCrow was very sweet, but then as I slowly began to ship FeatherxBramble harder and harder, I realized Feathertail deserves so much better than a little dick like Crowpaw. She’s my favorite she-cat in TNP, after all. I mean, she DIED to save the guy and how does he live the rest of his life to honor her sacrifice? Goes completely emo, fucks two other she-cats, and treats both his current mate and ex-mate as well as all of his kits like total crap. Feathertail must be so damn proud. As for CrowxLeaf, well…I went through a period where I shipped them really hard. So much that I actually was wishing they didn’t even come back to the clans and lived the rest of their lives as a happy couple with lovely kits. Then people started pointing out how sudden and underdeveloped the couple was, and I realized they’re right. In Starlight they can’t stand each other, with maybe a tiny hint of a crush from both sides, and then by the end of the book they’re declaring love? I mean…what? Even when I first read the series, I thought that was a little fast for two cats who didn’t even appear to like each other to fall in love. A friend of mine got me into LeafxMoth, and now I far prefer that couple to LeafxCrow. They have a lot more chemistry, and both of them kinda give off that lesbian vibe. And it would’ve had a lot more development, wouldn’t it? Anyway, I guess I’m sort of neutral toward FeatherxCrow and LeafxCrow now. I ship them both a little bit, but certainly not as much as I used to. I don’t ship CrowxNight, though. Crowfeather doesn’t love her, and Nightcloud needs to leave him and find another mate who treats her right. There’s just nothing appealing about this couple to me. Other than that they produced Breezepelt, who’s one of my favorite charries. But yes, I’m going to make Crowfeather even more of a man-whore than he already was by pairing him up with Squirrelflight Wouldn’t hurt to add another girl to the harem, right?

So, CrowxSquirrel! Let’s pair up the two stubborn cats on the quest and have a ball with that X3 I’m not going to pretend these two would have a sweet, gushy romantic relationship because let’s all be honest here…they wouldn’t. If you think Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw fight a lot…well, these two would fight twice as much! They would have the most intense love-hate relationship in the history of fiction, and it would be EPIC. There would certainly never be a dull moment! They’re both really stubborn, but in different ways. It seems like Squirrelflight tends to be more optimistic while Crowfeather is more pessimistic. They have a lot in common with their loyalty and all, but they’re certainly different enough to make it interesting. And Crowfeather would not be happy at all about another forbidden relationship on his plate, but that would just make it more interesting, right? ;3 In all honesty, this relationship probably wouldn’t last, but…it’d be one hell of a rollercoaster ride while it did! And don’t worry about Brambleclaw…meanwhile he’s having a nice, healthy relationship with Sorreltail or Feathertail X3 Man, now I want to come up with fankits for BramblexFeather and SquirrelxCrow D:

Surprisingly, this was actually the first time in the history of all my warriors fanart that I’ve drawn Crowfeather or Squirrelflight :/ Considering they’re pretty popular characters, you’d think that I would’ve drawn them in a shipping at least once. But nope, this is the first time ever! Their designs were pretty straightforward, which was a huge relief after the headache of creating designs for Redtail and Mapleshade. Crowfeather was a little tricky to color in, since I didn’t know if black lines would show up against his almost-but-not-quite black pelt. I found out the hard way they didn’t X( So I had to color over them with light gray, which thankfully worked out. For his fur, I colored it dark gray and then colored black over it, which didn’t fail epically like I half-expected it to, so…yay! Squirrelflight I purposely colored dark orange because she’s DARK ginger, which people often forget. I always imagine her as being much darker than Firestar, but not dark enough to be red. And look, I gave her a hair curly-Q! I’ve always wanted to do that I had my heart set on giving Squirrelflight SOME type of fancy hair, since I think it suits her character as being the “bombshell blonde” who does really well with the guys. And of course, how could I forget her bushy tail? There’s a reason she has “squirrel” in her name! If you’re wondering where her white paw is, it’s hidden behind Crowfeather. I didn’t want to draw it because I’ve always been annoyed by Squirrelflight’s white paw. If it’s canon, why was it only ever mentioned ONCE in the books and why isn’t it in her allegiance description?! Scourge’s white paw was mentioned in his! I’ve been assured many times that the white paw IS canon and isn’t a mistake like I originally thought, but that just makes me hate it even more. So I’m not going to draw it if I can avoid doing so XP

So as to what’s actually going on in the picture…this is Squirrelpaw and Crowpaw on the quest. They’re standing in a random field, presumably close to the mountains by the looks of that pine forest. Squirrelpaw is flirting hard with Crowpaw, but he will have none of it. He’s just WAY too embarrassed to admit he likes her, as we can see from that pink on his cheek! Where are Feathertail and Brambleclaw? Making out behind that tree over there. Don’t worry about them. Well, I’m sorry to say this is going to be my last warriors shipping drawing for a while I’m going to be becoming inactive on this account soon, and I’ll put the details in a journal later this week. But we’ll worry about that later. For right now…ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY SQUOW! MAY IT BE SHIPPED BY MANY OTHERS AFTER I AM GONE!
