Description
Something i did during my free time, spent 2-3 days on and off after I finished my part in my final project. Initially i was inspired by the mechas in the Sonic Unleashed's cinematic, i love the way they made the mecha so shinny yet not too CG. However, in the end it turned out to be like this XD Anyway, I will use this model for some other purposes like texturing and rendering. Thanks to classmate, Mark for the name. Thanks for viewing. God bless.Related content

Good job. The only thin i thought about is how smooth this model is. I get a cartoon feeling when i look at it ;b
Just thought that machines usually have sharp edges and such, and im not familiar with the mechas in Sonic ^

This looks nice. I did Liger Zero of Zoids, I have it rigged, but its not easy to animate. I work in Lightwave though...

thanks, it took me about six weeks to model. I still tweak it now and again, and I also have some more to do to it. But for now I'm just glad its done.

... and I wish there was a way to edit our posts. I'd so have edited that silly double-nice or something to replace it by something.... less doubled?
Anyway, really nice piece, though. I love the cartoonish style. Should have included that comment in the first post, though >.>;

Nice. And this get posted just after I post one of my own 3d pieces, nice
Out of curiosity, what's the polygon count on this one? It does look really smooth. I assume you used a turbosmooth modifier or something(if you're using 3ds max). Granted, I'm actually afraid to asks. I'm really just a rookie who's only begun doing 3d 4 months ago. <.<;

erm, it is 47117 after i smoothened some parts of the mecha, im a maya user, i used smooth and soften edges commands to smoothen. Im starting to learn 3d max as well, do u hav any links to tutorials on max?

the best tutorials for 3dmax is on the help section on the softwar. just click F2 or i think it was F3, and you'll get tutorials in all levels.... the render tut. are really helpfule..
If you will render the model, i'll sugest Vray.. very powerful engine.. 100 times better than the 3dmax'es activeshade render engine...
just a tip

Heh.... they aren't too hard to find. Though I wishes I had ones to suggests you right away. Most of what I learned was in school so I should take profit of the holidays to take the time to search for some myself as well
