No no don't take what I said the wrong way. I think its amazing. I meant that's insane cause I can't believe the detail you have in it. Really its amazing.

Oh please, let's get things straight.
1- I'm not stupid. I know what you said.
2- This matte painting is excellent, I agree that it is amazing or "insane" as you call it.
3- It is not my painting, so you can't say "the detail you have in it"
4- This is a MATTE PAINTING, and that means it is a combination of photomanipulation (so the detail mostly results from using REAL PHOTOGRAPHS!!!)and an overall digital repainting and blending. No need to get freaked out by the detail. This is also the reason, why this piece of art took only 4 hours to make. End of story.
5- Still a great piece of work.

good god, you people really don't know what a matte painting is, do you? no, it's not from scratch, naturally. i apologize for posting this here but it might be of help: [link] this is a tutorial of how a matte painting is done.
now back to your picture: i like the light and how the forest is illuminated. what's a bit funny is that even though the sky is blue (and generally it looks more like noon), the front cliffs are very dark. that is in fact a bit strange (don't think that'd be possible), but the picture itself it quite good.

dude thats awesome how did u make it? I could really use some advice on how to create something like this. Is it a bunch of pictures composited or all made in a program? how did u manage this? great work.. send me a note on the break down if you can i would really like to see the work flow.. four hours thats awesome
