My entry for this month Gnomon Workshop Challenge, I'm still not giving up instead tried out the 3D images section, this theme is Lost In Space. I did this is Maya 2008 and composited in Photoshop CS3. Comment please, i think it is time to show people my 3D work in order to improve faster.Related content

Ah, the fun of the cardboard box. 
The aliens ship is very spiffy looking. Athough, as fancy as the aliens and their ship looks, I must admit: it was the kid in the box that caught my attention.

your work has strong narrative, I can't or won't criticise the 3d element of it because your work is in itself an illustration and if it were a single image in a childrens story book would a child be able to read whats in the image? Would they understand it without words?
If I had to look for something to make a remark on it would be that there is no sense of momentum, the thrusters on the boys box says he's going up but there's no momentum in him or the box other than the flames to show thats where the momentum comes from
and with the alien craft no sense of which direction its comeing from or going to, am I making sense?
but to tell you the truth I love it, I think its a brilliant image, I want to have a mind thats as open as yours to be able to concieve such ideas.

So cute and silly! I like the mix of colors and textures and how the stars shine. I like the designs of the ships too and the alien giving contradictory directions is funny!
