THERE WAS A SPARK when the two blades collided. A confident smile snuck onto Lyn Dragona's face, mirroring that of her opponent, the mighty Nona. Both women exchanged several more strikes, faster and faster, as their frenzy spar continued. Minutes went by like this ... then an hour. Sweat started to run down their foreheads, yet, their breathing was still going slow. Lyn grinned now, still confident that she would win, but well aware she hadn't been challenged like this in many years. Then suddenly, there was an opening! The moment she had been waiting for! A quick side step, then she struck for Nona's unprotected side.
"And dead!", she yelled ... only for her sword to strike nothing but air.
Suddenly, cold steel pressed against the back of her neck.
"Precisely!", Nona's voice whispered behind her.
Lyn lowered her sword, a sheepish smile on her face as she turned around to face her friend. All her years, nay, centuries of training and experience and she had still fallen for one of the oldest tricks in the book: A weak point that was not. Then again, after 80 minutes of swordplay, that opening had been so likely to be legit, everybody would have fallen for it, right? ... Right? Nona, finally wiping away the sweat and allowing herself a deep breath, smiled at her.
"You look happy, I thought you hated losing?"
Lyn smirked and cocked an eyebrow.
"Who lost? I won ... someone who is my equal! Verily, that is a victory in my book!"
Nona cocked an eyebrow of her own.
"That is ... one way to look at it."
"What I am is already looking forward to our rematch tomorrow!"
With that Lyn put down her blade and started stretching. Soon, Nona joined in. After a few minutes of peaceful stretching, they quickly engaged in yet more friendly competition with sit-ups and push-ups. Thus another 60 minutes went by. Then finally, they pulled each other to their feet, grabbed their weapons and went for the springs to wash away the sweat. Lyn felt fantastic! The omnipresent doom and gloom finally off her mind. Today was a good day and she was ready to take on the world!

Very soon though, she would have to do just that!

So yeah, this will be how I am telling this story for now. 3D rendered images with text. I don't have the freetime nor the itch to draw a full comic on my old style (yet). Hopefully you will enjoy it anyway. Expect a lot of new commissioned pieces as time goes by. I need to find my place here again and perhaps this story will help.
