in some point after adagio failed assault on the rainbooms, he was frustrated with adagio leadership and consider her way to be poorly and insulting to be a leader, at some point he challange adagio but
she being a cheater blast off dinobot away thinking she maybe destroyed him....How wrong she was.
Dinobot reappear later on challange sunset for leadership, should he win he can lead the rainbooms and should sunset loose she will be destroyed
PS: this is not the same dinobot from beast wars, more like an descendant to the original dinobot
another PS: i dont like sunset new clothes in latest EG series, same does pinkie, rarity and well fluttershy, aj are okay RD....well stick to original and used this new clothes for sports, twilight...well okay not too bad
