Well, I wonder how an Brood of these guys would come to be...oh wait let's have an certain mutated strain of creep that managed to infect some dudes in a certain Protoss research facility get on the lose on a Protoss world and mix a small portion of Zerg Hive and presto, we get a new faction for the Starcraft universe!
Well it's either that or a bunch of these guys willingly becoming part of the Zerg, though considering the nature of the above hinted at creep strain, that may also be a sinister possibility.
