Digital Painting. 10 hours. Zoom in for details. fixed a few things that were bothering me. This so far has been my most successful work but this is only the beginning. Thanks for all the kind words everyone!Related content

Wow~ The shooting stars, the flashlight left on the ground, and the city itself add just the right amount of brightness to this piece. I love the lone figure as well watching it all by himself.

This is wonderful... I love the flashlight fallen on the ground, the suspended feeling in the picture, as well as the movement in it, which makes the eye move smoothly across the picture. I like the roughness/somewhat sketchiness of the art. It complements the scene very well.

Congratulations on your well-deserved DD! Β I love the way you have echoed the Meteors with the fallen torch which, in turn, highlights the growth of vegetation which, in turn, echoes the meteors on their journey to becoming meteorites. Β Also, I love the colours of the sky and the way you lead the observers' eyes around the artwork ... amazing!

Woah. This is fantastic. The mass of stars are suitably glowing without being distracting from the main subject and in fact helps to guide the viewer's eye down the picture. The balance of light and dark is really well done. I love the main subject and the fallen flashlight adds more story and believability to the picture. Your figure is very believable in his pose and gesture. I was surprised to find that this was a digital painting because it looked so painterly. I do think you should study rhythm in objects. Think of musical notes arranged on the page and how there's rhythm, up and down, so it looks natural. The grass is from the photoshop default I suppose? They lack rhythm and variety that natural objects have. Study pictures of grass and fields of long grass blowing in the wind. Heck, you can even montage stock of grass and paint over it so you already have a basic guideline. Same goes for the little tree and plants. Also, try to solidify your subjects. Your strokes are a bit transparent in certain areas for example at his feet, I can see through his feet to the ground. It makes him look a bit ghostly. If ghostly was your goal there is probably better ways to fade him off. Similarly, the background buildings are semi-translucent which looks a bit messy and gives off a lack of confidence. Be wary of messy strokes. I am no professional but I'm an art student myself and I have these same critique given to me by my lecturers all the time. Keep up the amazing work because all technicals aside, you have a very natural eye for composing pictures and it shows very well.

I agree with what you said about the grass and some of my strokes. to be honest i got a bit lazy towards the end haha so I hope to come back to this one and improve it. Thank you so much for the input I really appreciate it! =]

Fantastic, beautiful juxtaposition of light and dark in that it's not just confined to the sky but the foreground as well, amazing look and feel to the picture too.
