Notes: In the aftermath of one of the reapers many purges throughout the Milky Way, the Inusannon were one of the first races to rediscover space travel around 200,000 years ago. This was helped in large part due to a unification of their various nations in the centuries prior, placing all under the rule of a single elected official. Many of their wealthy were enthralled by the idea of space travel, and were more than happy to work with their leader in order to fund such expeditions. It certainly paid off. In the next couple of centuries, they colonized their planet’s moon, and, in the millennia that followed, improved their technology to the point where they colonized their entire solar system. Being the only sapient race in said system, they had little conflict, save for with some native species which were driven to extinction, some intentionally and others unintentionally. However, by the time they had developed faster-than-light crafts, they had come into conflict with a space-fairing race, the thoi’han from a nearby solar system. Their main source of conflict was over the colonization of the garden world Eingana, both wanting it for its agricultural potential. Many battles were fought over the world, costing both sides many ships. However, neither side were ultimately successful, as the invasion of the Reapers forced both parties to retreat and deal with the new threat. It was no use. One by one, the various planets that the inusannon had colonized were attacked by the mysterious reapers, reducing their cities to rubble. Many attempted to flee to other worlds, only to find that they too had been invaded by the machines. As countless civilizations fell across the Milky Way Galaxy, some, desperate for an escape, took starships into dark space. Few even made it past the edge of the galaxy, and those that did were never heard from again. And thus, the civilization of the inusannon, as well as the rest of the Milky Way Galaxy, was brought to ruin by the reapers. However, some of the inusannon’s ruins did provide the later protheans to knowledge necessary to develop mass effect technology. I suppose their legacy lives on to this day, which is more than can be said for many other races.
Character Notes: Among the inusannon that had escaped into deep space, the last president of their civilization was one of them. After fighting a loosing battle against the reapers for years, constantly retreating to worlds farther and farther from Illos, he joined several others in this last ditch effort to escape the reapers. Unfortunately for him, his craft was struck down over a small planet at the edge of deep space, and him as his crew crash landed on the lone celestial object. He was one of the few that survived the initial crash, but him and his crew knew they wouldn’t last long on this barren world, especially with their oxygen running low. Unfortunately, their ship was far too damaged to repair, and the planet offered no resources with which to use. It wasn’t long before more and more survivors died from their wounds, with the president eventually being the last survivor. Having accepted his fate, he dedicated the rest of his time to writing a memoir of him and his race, hoping that someday someone would find it. After writing the last words, he removed his oxygen tank and fell asleep for the last time.
