Again, fantastic! Has both an inviting and uninviting aspect to it. Awesome how you caught both!

Infrared filter shots are pretty cool, gives the pic a nice tone. I like the composition here, the way the peer leads the eye into the trees and their great reflection. Well done

Thank you very much for the compliment,
I really enjoy using the IR filter because of how different things look, it causes different contrasting elements to show up.

Thank you very much,
Infrared can give that snow effect look,
I like doing infrared photography because of how different things respond to those wave lengths,

Wow.
What kind of touch ups did you do with this shot besides sizing/cropping and bordering?

brassshadow In reply to freeslagg [2005-05-31 05:52:53 +0000 UTC]
Thanks,
I increased the contrast alittle more by playing with the levels and curves and I did a color shift from the image's original red color to blue,

Thank you very much,
I'm still just starting out with IR and still have alot to learn, so it is really incouraging to see positive feedback.
I wasn't sure if my kodak could handle IR so I made a home made filter out of some exposed slide film, (some of my older IR work was taken with that)
That helped me check to see if it could do it before I spent money on a filter,
One of the nice things about it is that the LCD and EVF do a really good job of increasing gain and relaying a live image with the filter inplace,
Makes it easy to compose the shot.

Thank you very much nadia
Yeah there's some really nice scenery there,
I really want to go back soon because there is still so much that I want to do there,
There is so much beauty in nature, it really brings out my creativity,
Now that I have time on the weekends again I can begin to take it all in,
As far as the jump goes though,
Just be carefull, that dock/path has taken a beating from harsh conditions

Thanks alot holly,
Glad you like it,
Finaly got some good scenery to try out the filter on when I went to my grandmother's camp up on lake Ontario,
Expect to see some more nature oriented photos comming soon
as far as the IR filter goes,
I got the tip for using the hoya R72 from the digital IR photography tutorial here [link]
you can also go for a cokin A007 or P007 according to the article,
It says that these filters are optimal for digital cameras,
They are also not as expensive as some of the other IR filters out there that cut higher wavelengths,
I got mine new for about $30US from a reseller on eBay,
But I saw some of the higher wavelength ones going for over $150US.
another photo that someone told me about that uses the R72 is here if you interested [link]
That person uses a Nikon D70
