I just got bored today and wanted to draw something MLP-related since it's been so long since I've done anything from it.So this references both "Rainbow Rocks" where Bulk Biceps played the violin in his one-man band, and also the Ed, Edd, n Eddy episode "Pain in the Ed" when Ed was practicing the violin and it drove Eddy insane.
I put Soarin' in Ed's position for obvious reasons
(They both voiced by the same person. )
While Bulk Biceps is just keeping a smile trying to motivate his friend, while Flash Sentry is on the ground in agony, (because for whatever reason the world hates him )

So..why do you like Flash Sentry and how do you feel about the hate he gets from the fandom?

when I saw the trailer for the first movie, I was like, ok I'll wait and see about this new guy.
Then I saw the movie, and really loved it, and I thought, "Ok his name is Flash Sentry, that's a cool name, I see no reason to hate him",
and I found some of his traits relatable"
-his ex-girlfriend was cruel to a lot of students like mine
-My gf at the time acted lot like Twilight (she even made that connection)
-I play a little guitar
-I'm a generally all-around nice guy.
-I have a younger brother i.e. "First Base"
-And I'm not afraid to act nerdy with her. ^^
As for the hate. I understand, I personally don't like Pipsqueak, and I find Spike overrated (I don't hate him), but some of the fans take this hatred really just TOO far. And I'm thinking, "love and tolerance much?"

So, how do yo feel about the fandom's cherry picking mentality (ex most of the fandom pass Flash off as being bland, one dimensional and boring, when all of the other background ponies are just as bland and one dimensional (though, I don't think any of them are bland. They're all blank slates) yet, the fandom flocks to all of them)

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!
After watching the movie I thought the same thing even though I really couldn't say that Flash was a favorite of mine until I read 's stories on Flash.
But even back then I was expecting fans and ex-fans to just lose their minds over him. It's very hypocritical and sad to see and hear that they are just nitpicking the shit out of this.

More or less, yeah. It's very irksome to see this fandom, which has created a great deal of wonderful things for other background ponies, pass over Flash because of his(possible) relationship with Twilight.
And it was Author who made me actually start liking Flash for a real reason(instead of liking him to piss people off).
So, do you have any headcanons for old Cheese Ball.

I actually had a full-on back story written out for Flash from the first movie, though the second movie called for some editing to it.
Sunset and Flash actually went to the human world together as partners in crime. Unknown to Sunset though, Flash had his own special copy of the message book with him. Overtime Flash realized that Sunset was more trouble then she was worth and planned to return to Equestrian at the earliest convenience. Then he ends up running into the real Human Flash, a new student at Canterlot High. Pony-Flash tells him what's going on and then gives him the message book, and tells him to follow his plan and watch out for Sunset. Then when the portal opened up 3 a month before the first movie, pony Flash returns home and becomes "the new guard" in the crystal empire where he kept his own copy of the message book and stayed in contact with his human self. With this in place, he told human flash that Sunset is about to enact her plan and to look out for a Twilight Sparkle and help her wherever he can. And the only reason why human Flash didn't say goodbye at the end was because he was telling pony Flash that the mission was accomplished.
