So, some of you may know that Praelium Pondera (and On the Wings of Light and Dark) are on fanfiction.net along with being here. I've gotten a couple of reviews that essentially say...Paraphrasing, but these are the main points.
"You implied in chapter 8 of OWLD a relationship between Pit and Palutena. Expand on this, please!"
"No, Palutena is more like a mother to him! Don't pair her with Pit! Can't you make an OC?"
First of all, Pit was serious when he said he didn't have those kinds of feelings for her. It wasn't just a coverup/denial. I meant it.
Second of all...
Where does it say I have to pair Pit with anyone? Minor spoiler alert: Pit stays single in Praelium.
As for this drawing itself...
Well, PitXPalutena stems from both the original game and Uprising, then there's PitXViridi, PitXPhosphora...
And then we get into the realm of SSB with PitXPeach, PitXZelda, PitXSamus... (which, to me, Pit and Samus are rivals...)
Then there's the OCs and so on. Don't get me wrong- I'm not totally against pairing a character with an OC, especially when the character doesn't have a canon romantic relationship. But, to me, it depends on how the story develops. Having Pit, or any other character, magically fall in love with an OC out of nowhere isn't believable.
And the realm of yaoi, but I won't get into that.

WORD. I actually like characters single. There may be crushes or whatnot, but I for the most part don't ship him; Peach and Zelda are way too old physically, not to mention Samus, who in my fanon is his honorary sister; he'd be more than a bit squicked out if he saw people put him together with her. Especially since she looks older than the previously mentioned two. And oh my gosh the yaoi... GAHHHH...
But wait... Didn't you ship him with Lucina?

I do ship Lucit, but this was drawn as a reaction to several questions I had gotten regarding the On the Wings of Light and Dark series. People kept asking me to pair him with Palutena, Viridi, or make an OC because apparently I HAD to pair him up with someone.

I know; why do people think that everyone has to be paired with someone? I mean, OC? Really?! What is it about single people that people can't stand? Never knew it also affected guys, though. Ugh...
I'm also one of those few that prefer to keep them single if they are. To bring an example from another fandom, I don't see why people feel the need for Sonic to not be the free guy he is. Literally the only in-Smash pairings I ship are Mario x Peach (even then I'm not passionate about it and Robin x Lucina. Everything else is a crush or canon pair back home.
Besides, I'm pretty sure he's physically 13? Pedos, fans are pedos!

As far as Smash reps go, my big ships are LinkXZelda, MarthXShiida [canon], IkeXElincia, RoyXLilina, FemRobinXChrom, and LucinaXInigo. Then my dabbling in Lucit, but that wasn't even Smash-based.
And yeah, he's physically in his mid to late twenties by the time he finally gets paired up in the OWLD/AtBoT series, and I didn't even originally intend for that to happen. I didn't pair him up just for the sake of a pairing.

Actually, I do ship many Smashers with other characters outside of Smash in their own universes, if accepting canon ships or likely to be canon ships count. Like, so many characters already have love interests that I didn't feel like typing out. (Let's see here... Marth x Caeda, Roy x Lilina, Shulk x Fiora, Ness x Paula, Luigi x Daisy, SS Link x SS Zelda, F!Robin x Chrom (Chrom is shipped with Sumia in M!Robin's universe), TP Link x Illia, Toony x Tetra, Olimar x his wife, Pac-Man x Mrs. Pac Man...) What I said there were the in-Smash ones, and within it I only have two requited pairs.
Wait, how much time passes in you stories? A hundred years? Since I'm sure it takes that long for an angel to reach maturity.

There's about two hundred fifty years or so by the time Pit reaches that age, and he kind of just stops aging after that thanks to becoming a god. He's well over two thousand years old by the time Across the Bounds of Time comes about.

Well, most of my stories for KI has Pit staying single... and even if it's Pit ending up with someone, it's when he's older, much more mature, and knows the person well enough to actually have, y'know, a crush on them.

And the only SSB parings ive heard about is IkexPit, and thats only because i ended up at a reandom Yaoi fanfic while searching for a Kid Icarus fanfic :/

Eh, I still think that Pits got a major crush on Palutena, but it obviously can't happen because... well. Maturity vs. Immaturity.

Yeah, I like to see Pit single. What Pit really has become is more or less a very notable icon for Nintendo shipping, but in lameman's terms, "Shipping Bait". I also ship Pit and Deadpool, but whatever. :U

No kidding =_= But we can probably thank SSB for that. Most people had no idea of who the heck he was and his overall character hadn't really been established... so people took on the idea they could do whatever the heck they wanted with him.

A Mary Sue tends to be an overly perfect or overly tragic character. Like one who came from a really poor family and her entire family was wiped out by [insert tragedy here] but then it turns out she has some crazy divine powers or prophecy regarding her so she goes on and achieves the goal of her quest or whatever without any problems and magically gets the guy without any real development to the relationship. The male counterpart is a Gary-Stu.
