Before switching to the painted face look, I tried giving her a cybernetic to show the result of the accident she had prior to the events of the story. I also tried different hairstyles and even drew her with her face hidden under the hood of her cloak.

At first, I had this idea that she could've been a tragic villainess. Once a respected and efficient Solar Security officer, but unfortunate circumstances lead her to becoming a vengeful cyborg villainess. If this was the case, Artie's arrival in her life could've been a "deforesting the ice queen" scenario as Artie leanrs more of her and wishes to help redeem her despite the dangers she put him through.

Eventually I thought it would be better if she was a conflicted liberator for aliens, and has this evil adviser (ominous) who is the one who wants to conquer Earth.
