Hi folks. Sorry it's been a couple weeks since my last drawing. But I've been trying to produce a christmas themed project in honour of the holidays. In the meantime, I did make time to come up with an new potential character for Breakout Stars.

Here's some rough drawings of a tall anthropomorphic alien-dog character based on the old male Madelyn drawing breakoutkid.deviantart.com/art… and Delta Lyle's original striped dog form. breakoutkid.deviantart.com/art… .

His design and sharp wit personality is inspired by other wiseguy hero characters like Charlie Barkin (All Dogs go to Heaven), Dr. Peter Venkman (Ghostbusters), Han Solo (Star Wars), Nick Wilde (Zootopia).

Clothes-wise, I went for a sort of sci-fi cowboy look. He'd probably look good in a hat, but I thought I'd show this guy's whole head just to give you an idea of what he looks like. When it came to the head, I tried different facial designs like a dark german shepherd muzzle, giving an almost five o'clock shadow impression. Plus I tried strips over his nose, the back of his neck, and under his eyes. I don't really want to overly resemble Charlie Barkin when it comes to the dark muzzle, so I'll probably do some later changes to the design, making him more unique but identifiable as this bold witty space dog ally.

Anyway, onto the character details. I felt there could be a possibility that Artie, Delta and Tecki could be the main heroes of the story. So I figured there could be another guy in their group to balance the genders, the personalities, and to provide intergalactic street smarts and cynical comedy relief.

Not sure about his character yet, but when I look at him, I'd see him as some drifting bounty hunter like Clint Eastwood's character from the Dollars Trilogy, or a shifty smuggler like Han Solo. Despite his differences with Artie, he could act as a sort of mentor and guide for the earth cartoonist.

As for names, I thought of something like "Dan Fango" (a take on "Fandango"), but that's just something at the spur of the moment for the sake of this entry. So, he may have a new name next time he appears.
