Description
Montezuma supposedly had a vision that a comet blazed across the sky that foreshadowed the end and destruction to his empire. There is also an Aztec goddess named Coatlicue who was the giver and destroy of life.

I wanted to incorporate of those aspects into an artwork that foreshadowed the arrivals of the Europeans and an end to their culture. I wanted to create an ominous, somber mood to it through the use of greens, yellows and other dark shades. It's bit hard to explain but this artwork piece still sends chills throughout me.

All of the images used were stock photos. Finding an aztec model was quite difficult to find until I found a gorgeous stock photo of Asvision , the stock was downloaded from here: [link] The golden coin in the top right was meant to represent the Aztec Calendar which signified the end of the world.
