Description
Here’s Master Splinter for my TMNT series. This took so much longer than it should have, mostly because it took several takes before I got a design I liked (I decided to post up all the takes on Tumblr. Check them out at the link below) and also because after I was disappointed time after time with the picture I let it sit for over a week and decided to be a lazy bastard. Well, now he’s done. I guess this is a case of "don't judge a book by it's cover". Your version of Splinter is terrifying to look at, however he has a heart of gold. Excellent job at pulling it off.

It just didn't sound right to me. As far as that movie goes, I wasn't expecting anything too good anyway. my brother, who LOATHED Transformers, wanted to see it with my turtle obsessed cousins, and I just jumped on, cause what am i gonna do, play my old 3DS games in the cottage? Overall, it wasn't my favorite, and yeah, lots of stupid things ruin it, but I thought the few action scenes were ok. Just the same action and CG we expect from Hollywood for every friggin movie though.

Yeah, the action is whatever. It's not bad but it's very generic. A sequel was already announced. I hope they use that as a chance to redeem themselves.

Well, it does have the Turtle Wagon, so yeah. but every movie with CG (well, except Apes) is the same. They show like, ten minutes of the CG total and have generic ass action. At this point, we should go back to costumes and stop motion until we can maintain a good budget.

Nice. Those are some straight up Don Bluth Secret of Nimh style rat hands.
Do you sketch thin lines and then thicken them up in places? Your line work is
so bold I thought maybe you used a marker or brush.

Thanks, actually, now that you mention it, I was probably subconsciously drawing him like the elder from NIMH. That's an honor, though, Don Bluth and Secret of NIMH are awesome.
Although the general look of my style is meant to appear as quick brush lines, I find I get the right balance of thick and thin by drawing the thickness by hand after drawing thin lines or as I'm doing the pencils.
