Description
Just drawing a mermaid with a very, very long tail. Obviously Iβm not doing it the whole month; I started too late.To : How do I make this look more natural? It looks stretched out.Β

Hello! I tried my hand at correcting your art. I'm not a corrector but I hope it helps in some way!

I have a Favorites Folder for 'Mermaids and Lamia'. I did not expect to find ONE THING that belongs in that Folder for BOTH REASONS. Β

Well, that was unintentional on my part.

Whoa! With a tail like that, this could be like a serpent mermaid. Or "ser-maid" for short.

Hi! I'm from ProjectComment and I'm here to give you some advice if you don't mind xP
First off - I like this concept / idea, it's actually really creative and I've never seen anything like it before. Though I think you went a bit overboard with the length and some of the parts where the tail bends in a different direction could be less squarish
Her body, more specifically her stomach area, seems to get a tad bit too thin. Maybe work on making that area not as thin as you did and / or making the thigh area (or where the tail begins?) about as wide as the top part of the body maybe...
One of her arms also seems to be skinner than the other and the skinnier one seems to be longer. Theremalso seems to be no visible neck. Usually when I draw a picture with the neck hidden or where the shoulders aren't there, I still draw the shoulders and the neck normally and then draw the drawing the way I want. That usually helps me, but everyone is different so it might not help you, and that's fine
The clam bra also seems a bit low. I think if you placed it up higher, made the curve for the stomach higher, and then did the hips shape and then went into the tail it wouldn't look as stretched outΒ
I think the hair could flow a bit more naturally. Maybe instead of spiking it all up like you did, you can make the hair strands longer and skinnier, and make some sort of flow in the direction of the body and have some sort of sticking up
I really hope my advice helped and that it wasn't too confusing! You just need to keep practicing and you'll get better

Well, that is the longest tail of a mermaid I have ever seen... Might want to work on that! Other then that, this looks really nice! Keep up the fantastic work!

I'd go for smoother curves first. Try to look up some snakes on internet and you'll notice they swirl in a very smooth way, a little different from the turns on the tail of your maid. S-turns and some circles would come in handy

That's far-less a "mermaid", and more like a water-borne lamia.Β Β Change the end of her tail and she pretty much is a lamia.

So itβs the top half of a woman and bottom half of a snake. I can see why there would be confusion.Β
